Mrs. Worboy's Grad Seminar class features recent SMLS grads coming back to share their experiences and wisdom concerning the university experience. We have had the pleasure of listening to: Jessica Proctor ’07, Bisma Bhatti ’08, Rebecca Rahimi ’11, Emma Moogk ’11, Maddie Furlong ’13, Patricia Wesierski ’13, Ghazal Jessani ’14 and from the Class of 2015: Virginia Gibbins , Ruxandra Bogdan, Alexia Royal, Jillian Perrone, and Stephanie Collier.
Some important facts they shared included:
the need for balance with academics and social life
don’t be afraid to change programs
each university is different
take it one day at a time
prioritize what you do
find a good group of friends
make sure your professors know you
build your network
seek out academic advisors
stay active
always do your reading ahead of time and attend class
and most of all – you will be fine!
Our girls have found these chats to be most useful and have had the opportunity to ask questions about the universities they are interested in.
