Babysitting and CPR/First Aid Courses

2025 Babysitting & First Aid/CPR Certification Weekend


Empower your tween or teen with essential caregiving and emergency response skills. Our upcoming Babysitting and First Aid/CPR certification courses provide practical, hands-on training designed to build confidence, responsibility, and readiness.

Taking place over the weekend of June 7–8, these courses are open to everyone — boys, girls, and non-SMLS students are all welcome to register and participate.

Babysitting Course

For Ages 11–15
Saturday, June 7 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: SMLS Student Lounge (enter through front reception)

Does your child enjoy being with younger children? Are they looking to build independence and gain real-world skills?
This one-day training program is ideal for youth interested in:
  • Caring for children of all ages
  • Supervising siblings or running a small babysitting business
  • Creating safe environments and preventing accidents
  • Responding to emergencies
  • Building leadership and decision-making skills
  • Learning basic first aid and fire safety
Participants will receive a Babysitter’s Manual and a Certification Card upon successful completion.

Please bring a packed lunch.


Emergency First Aid & CPR Course

For Ages 12–17
Sunday, June 8 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: SMLS Student Lounge (enter through front reception)

This 8-hour course covers the fundamentals of emergency response. Youth will gain valuable skills in:
  • Contacting EMS/911
  • Performing CPR (adult, child, and infant)
  • Responding to choking emergencies
  • Handling breathing emergencies (e.g., asthma, anaphylaxis)
  • Recognizing and reacting to circulatory emergencies (e.g., heart attack, stroke)
  • Basic wound care and safety
Participants will receive official certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR.

Cancellation Policy: A $25 administration fee will be charged per program for any cancellations.
