Babysitting and CPR/First Aid Courses

2026 Babysitting & First Aid/CPR Certification Weekend

Empower your tween or teen with essential caregiving and emergency response skills. Our upcoming Babysitting and First Aid/CPR certification courses provide practical, hands-on training designed to build confidence, responsibility, and readiness.

Taking place over the weekend of May 2-3, these courses are open to everyone — boys, girls, and non-SMLS students are all welcome to register and participate.

Babysitting Course

For Ages 11–15
Saturday, May 2, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: SMLS Student Lounge (enter through front reception)
Course Fee: $110.00

Does your teen or tween enjoy being with children? Do they want to gain new skills and a sense of responsibility?

This Babysitting Course will provide the training they need.

This Babysitter training course is designed for youths aged 11 to 15. Participants learn how to run a small babysitting business and how to supervise younger siblings or other children in a safe and responsible manner. Aspiring babysitters also learn basic first aid skills

Caring for children of all ages
Creating safe environments and preventing accidents
Fire safety and prevention
What to do in an emergency
Good decision-making and leadership skills
Basic First aid skills.

Youth will take home a Babysitter’s Manual and certification card.

Emergency First Aid & CPR Course

For Ages 12–17
Sunday, May 3, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location: SMLS Student Lounge (enter through front reception)
Course Fee: $155.00

This 8-hour course covers the fundamentals of emergency response. Youth will gain valuable skills in:

Contacting EMS/911
Performing CPR (adult, child, and infant)
Responding to choking emergencies
Handling breathing emergencies (e.g., asthma, anaphylaxis)
Recognizing and reacting to circulatory emergencies (e.g., heart attack, stroke)
Basic wound care and safety

Participants will receive official certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR.

Please bring a nut-free lunch.

Cancellation Policy: A $25 administration fee will be charged per program for any cancellations.
