Welcome to SMLS, Ms. Joan Sun!

We’re delighted to welcome Ms. Joan Sun to SMLS as our new Executive Director of Strategic Enrolment, leading all aspects of enrolment - from recruitment and retention to community engagement and customer experience. 

To help our community get to know Joan a little better, we asked her a few quick questions:

Q: What inspired you to join SMLS?
As a parent whose daughter attended an all-girls school, I’ve seen firsthand how this environment builds confidence, leadership, and curiosity. From my career in independent schools, I also know that SMLS stands out as a place where girls are challenged, guided, and encouraged to grow. Joining this community was an exciting opportunity to be part of something truly exceptional.

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?
I’m a huge fan of Queen. Freddie Mercury is my all-time favourite artist! I also enjoy jogging, skiing, reading, and listening to audiobooks.

Q: Any advice for families starting their admissions journey?
Be curious and ask questions. Visit the school, talk to our students and teachers, and picture your daughter here. Finding the right school is about finding a community where your daughter is supported, inspired, and prepared for a rapidly changing world.
