Real World Learning Right Here at SMLS!

Senior School students gained important real world learning right here at SMLS on December 13, with three fascinating sessions:

"Unusual and Exciting Career Pathways" featured SMLS alumna Cynthia Holm '68, who is the Director of Operations, OR, at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and her daughter, Kirsten Holm, who is a commercial pilot. Both women have experienced fascinating career paths and girls in Grades 11 and 12 appreciated learning how they came to their current professions.

Grad Year students enjoyed a very practical session on "Financial Literacy for Higher Education," including tips for budgeting and financial planning while at university.

Grade 9 and 10 students learned about the importance of the arts through a panel session on "Learning Beyond Classroom Content: What we get from the Arts."
