Exceptional Results for SMLS DECA Chapter

On May 6, SS11 student Ella C made SMLS history as the first SMLS student to place at the International DECA competition, otherwise known as ICDC. Over the past few weeks Ella has been writing an exam and participating in a number of role plays. Her hard work and dedication resulted in a 3rd place overall standing in her category, the Restaurant Food Service Management Series. Despite the challenges of a virtual DECA this year, SMLS was able to reach several milestones including Ella’s success at Internationals, a record number of participants in the SMLS DECA chapter, and an invitation for our DECA President, Eva L, to apply for one of three DECA Ontario executive positions. Ms. Armstrong would like to thank all of the DECA members for an outstanding year!
