For Raymond Lieu and Rain Jiang, music has been an important part of their family's journey.

As parents of Gemma '32 and Aimee '35 — both passionate string musicians — they have seen firsthand how music nurtures confidence, creativity, perseverance, and connection. Hoping to share those same opportunities with other students, they chose to support the creation of SMLS's After School Strings Program.

Launched in the fall of 2025, the After School Strings Program offers students the opportunity to develop their skills in violin, viola, and cello within a welcoming and collaborative environment. More than learning an instrument, students discover the power of creativity, teamwork, and self-expression through music.
