Archdeacon Suzanne Craven
Archdeacon Suzanne Craven is the Bishop’s Appointee to the SMLS Board of Governors for the 2018/2019 academic year, and a priest in the Diocese of Niagara. Suzanne is a graduate of McMaster University/Universitaet Tuebingen (Hons. BA), University of Western Ontario (MLS) and University of Toronto (MDiv). Her 18 year ministry was concentrated in Burlington and Oakville, and she has recently retired as Rector of Church of the Epiphany Oakville and Archdeacon of Trafalgar. She continues as Chaplain to Students for the Diocese of Niagara. Suzanne founded the Bronte Village Stakeholders, composed of elected and volunteer community leaders, who strive to be advocates for justice through identifying needs in the community. She has been involved in numerous volunteer positions with McMaster University including president of the Women’s Branch, President of the McMaster Alumni Association, served on McMaster University Senate and on the Ceremonials and Insignia Committee. Prior to ministry, she was a librarian in the municipal public library sector in Woodstock, Dundas and Oakville for 24 years. Her husband, Rick Craven, has just retired from 18 years as Burlington City and Regional Councillor.
