Before the holidays, Mme Talaat'sSenior School French classes participated in an exciting e-pal exchange with students from Collège Privé St. Jacques De Compostelle School in France. This exciting initiative came about from Mme Claire Gysel, an SMLS alumna from Class of 1983, who wanted to design a way to increase the cultural awareness and communication skills of SMLS students and students abroad in a mutually beneficial and fun way.

So far, the students have reaped the rewards of this unique pilot project, making a new French-speaking friend, learning about a different culture, and refining their French written communication skills. The current success of this exchange promises continued engagement for future Millies.
For Christmas, both sets of students exchanged gifts of cultural significance with their nouveaux amis!
