Olwen Davies ‘58

“It’s wonderful to see Millies of all ages connecting. This school means a lot to me and has a special place in my heart.”
Olwen graduated from St. Mildred’s College in 1958 as Head Girl and had a very successful career in Nursing. Olwen was instrumental in rebuilding the Alumnae Association in the early 1970s, following the school amalgamation in 1969. Olwen chaired the school's 100th Anniversary celebrations in 1991 and was the recipient of the Outstanding Alumna Award in 2017. In 2023, Olwen received the Order of the Diocese of Toronto. She has been a dedicated and committed volunteer at her local church for many years and was honoured and humbled to receive such an honour from the Bishop. “All my volunteering has brought me much joy, happiness and gratefulness. I never expected to be rewarded for things I love to do. I have to thank my schooling and training at dear old SMC that steered me on the right path all my life.”

“St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn has been a lifelong commitment for me. It’s wonderful to see Millies of all ages connecting. This school means a lot to me and has a special place in my heart. That is why I have decided to include a bequest gift in my Will for the School.”
