Millies Celebrate with HRH Prince Edward and Other VIPs

SMLS is extremely proud to be one of the strongest award centres for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program. This year, as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the award in Canada, a number of Millies were selected to be a part of a very special celebration this week.

Three SMLS alumnae were presented with their Gold Level award
Grade 11 student, Laila C., provided a live art installation as part of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Ceremony
Six Senior School students who are currently working on their Gold Level Awards participated in a Youth Summit, connecting with other GTA award participants and discovering more about their own personal leadership.
Grade 11 student, Sophia T., wowed an audience that included HRH Prince Edward, performing her original songs and sharing stories about her songwriting and journey to becoming a performer.

We are so extremely proud of our Millies. It is a privilege and an honour to provide our students with these kinds of opportunities over the course of their school careers.
