Founders' Day 2018: Touching Memories from Millie Alumnae

SMLS held its annual Founders' Day celebration on February 5, to commemorate the school's 127-year history and its founders, Mother Emily Ayckbowm and Miss Ruth Lightbourn. Guest speakers included two alumnae, Louise Copestick Fortier '78 and Kelly Scott '68, who spoke fondly of their time at SMLS and, in particular, the positive impact that Miss Ruth Lightbourn had on their lives, describing her as a remarkable woman who commanded admiration and inspired girls to do more and be their best selves. SMLS was proud to recognize Legacy Mothers and Daughters at the event, celebrating the generations of Millies who have attended our school. Thank you to all of the alumnae, parents, students, faculty and staff who participated.
