Girls in Grade 7 and their art teacher, Sandra Hutton, are contributing to an international initiative known as The Memory Project. The project reaches out to children around the world who have faced substantial challenges, to show them that others care about their well being.

Grade 7 girls were given photos of children in Syria and asked to draw portraits of these children. At the same time, students learned about the country of Syria and the challenges that children are facing there.

The portraits that have been created by our girls will be sent back to the children in the photos, to help them feel valued and important, and to let them know that many people around the world care about their well being.  For our art students, it is an opportunity to creatively practice kindness and global awareness.
