Founders' Day Chapel

At our Founders' Day Chapel on Monday, February 13, we recognized our school's two visionary founders: Mother Emily Ayckbowm and Ruth Lightbourn. We honoured the combined spirits of our two original schools: St. Mildred’s College (1891) and Miss Lightbourn’s School (1923). The two schools came together in 1969, merging shared values, beliefs, cutting-edge attitudes towards women’s education, and community service -- all of which continue to characterize St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School today.

Special highlights of the Chapel included an address by Stephanie Kennedy, President of the Alumnae Association, recogniton of Alumnae mothers who currently have daughters at the school and a robotics presentation by members of the SWAT robotics team.
