Outstanding Alumnae

Joanne (Beauchamp) Stacey '78

    • Outstanding Alumna 2018
The Outstanding Alumna Award is presented annually to recognize alumnae who have made significant contributions to their professions or communities, volunteered extensively, expanded the role of women in society, shown exemplary leadership or been active in support of SMLS.

The 2018 recipient,
Mrs. Joanne (Beauchamp) Stacey ‘78, is accomplished in many of these areas. Joanne attained a degree in Social Work from Ryerson University in 1982 and has been a tireless and innovative advocate for youth and women. She has raised awareness of LGBTQ issues in Halton and is a strong advocate of regional breast cancer programs, including writing a book about her personal breast cancer journey. Mrs. Stacey was recognized at our whole school Community & Volunteer Appreciation assembly on April 30 and was presented with the Outstanding Alumna award at the Alumnae Brunch on May 5.
