About Our Program

SMLS’s Learning Strategies program recognizes that each child has a specific style of learning and processing information, and we make every effort to address different learning styles and needs within the whole classroom setting. Where necessary, however, the Learning Strategists coordinate with classroom teachers in the implementation of one-on-one or small group learning opportunities for the girls.

The Learning Strategists work closely with staff to create a program that will facilitate learning and, over time, allow the student to develop habits that will enable her to be successful. The Learning Strategists use learning plans to outline the learning profile of the student as well as those strategies and classroom accommodations that will best facilitate the learning process for the student. Where applicable, a plan for the academic future of the student is also included. The implementation of the plan is successful when staff, students, and parents work together as a team.
