James Ash

James currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer and heads the Pension Investment Management division at CIBC. In addition, he oversees the bank's Analytics and Quantitative functions within its Treasury group.

Prior to his tenure at CIBC, James held senior leadership positions in actuarial, investment, and risk management consulting.

James’ professional journey has allowed him to become well-versed in governance, fiduciary responsibilities, and the oversight of pension plans and their committees.

James holds an MSc in Actuarial Finance from Imperial College London and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from Cardiff University.

James and his wife, Kerstin, are the proud parents of a son, and two daughters enrolled at SMLS in the Junior and Middle Schools.
