Our fundraising efforts support the ABCs of SMLS - Access (financial aid), Building, and Curriculum.

Elaine Brière (pictured with her daughter and father) presented on behalf of herself and husband Benoit, generous supporters of financial aid through a bursary fund they established in honour of Elaine's late mother. Elaine said: "It is important for us to do our part to ensure that every girl has the ability to reach her highest potential to succeed and change the course of her life, but more importantly, has the means and the opportunity to do so; it is our duty to help her do so."

Our next speaker, Tracy Kodama (pictured with Colleen McMorrow, former SMLS parent and Board Chair), shared why she and husband Randall, consistently support our building enhancements. She mentioned that during her time as an SMLS parent (20 years!), many things were added to the campus that were "needed to advance this school into the 21st century" and they wanted to be part of the master plan. She added "but the vision never stops. The educational environment is alway changing and SMLS has great plans for the future".

And finally, Jess Mann (pictured with elder daughter and Nicole Rieger, SMLS Learning Strategist) spoke on behalf of herself and husband Kerry, about their decision to support curriculum. She shared "I know that gifts to curriculum support the ongoing initiatives like the Learning Strategies program, and that the goals of the program are to implement strategic that facilitate learning, to provide specific remediation in areas of difficulty, and they enable students to maximize their learning potential in the classroom and become more independent as learners".

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PRESENTED AND JOINED US THAT EVENING!
