School Bus Program
St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School is pleased to provide a busing program exclusively for SMLS students. The School runs buses providing service to Oakville, Mississauga and Burlington as well as areas further west, north and east. The actual routes depend on demand, so it is important that requests reach us early enough to plan accordingly.
With traffic at the School in mind, we would like to encourage ridership of the buses. To that end, we offer a "family package", keeping the increase in charges modest. We continue to operate the buses at a significant deficit.
Please note this is a bus service. Regular AM and/or PM riders will receive door-to-door service. Occasional use of the Bus Program is possible. In order to reserve a seat on a bus and ensure there is space on the bus for your daughter, a fixed fee of $400 will be charged for occasional service, as well as a fee per ride. If your daughter should decide to move to the full bus service by December 31st, 2012 the occasional rider fee will be deducted from the rate of the regular rider service fee. Occasional riders on the bus will be required to go to a collective bus stop. This will help to ensure a minimum of disruptions to the bus route schedule. Unscheduled rides on the bus are possible, providing space is available.
Pricing information and a Bus Reservation Form are enclosed. A map is included that indicates the area in which our Bus Program operates. We work with our busing provider annually to ensure that the routes are as efficient as possible, providing the shortest ride time possible for each student. The pricing covers the areas of the map. If your home falls outside of the service area, please call the School at 905-845-5830 ext. 805 to determine if arrangements for busing can be made. Everyone interested in the 2012-2013 Bus Program, including current riders, must submit a Reservation Form by Friday, June 8. 2012. After June 8, routes will be set and flexibility will be limited. We will mail further details and pick-up times to you two weeks before school starts.

Fees paid for occasional rider service will be applied to regular service cost if conversion to regular service occurs prior to December 31st, 2012. There will be no refund of Bus Program charges after December 31st, 2012.
