Building Her Future Capital Campaign
A $10 Million Campaign to upgrade facilities and help make St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School Best In Class
We are well into our historic $10 million campaign, the first phase has been completed and our generous donors have given $4 million making possible our new double gymnasium, performance theatre, visual arts centre and junior resource centre.
Our Millies are making the most of these new facilities and certainly putting them to good use. During the 2007-2008 school year 96% of our graduating class were Ontario Scholars and our athletic teams had a remarkable year with numerous gold and silver medals to add to the trophy case.
The Missing Piece is Your Help
Our School is a wonderful place, with a proud tradition, excellent teachers and bright and talented young students. Your donations go towards ensuring that St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School is at the forefront of Canadian independent girls' schools in both educational innovation and state-of-the-art facilities.
Although we have achieved much, we still have a long way to go to ensure our plans are fulfilled.

Phase 4
We are preparing to launch Phase 4 of our planned campus redevelopment. Our goal: to ensure that our physical facilities reflect the same uncompromising quality as our students, teachers and programs. As always, the achievement of this vision will depend on the whole School working together.
During a long process of research and planning certain elements of the School were highlighted as needing attention. As you can see above, some of these issues were addressed in the initial stages. The realization of Phase 4 will ensure that our great School will become exceptional. How can we achieve this premier status? With a continued emphasis on professional development and maintaining an A+ faculty, this means providing top-notch facilities to support our students and our staff.
What Your Donation Will Provide For Generations of Millies
Multi-Purpose Classrooms
Some of our classrooms are small and new spaces will create an optimal learning environment and a more flexible learning space.
New Dining Hall
The existing cafeteria is inadequate for the population we are serving, both in terms of size and design. The new Dining Hall will be significantly larger and will enable the School to have an improved menu with healthier food.
Improved Music Facilities
The existing classroom that is used for the music curriculum does not provide the space or ambiance to enable the music program to be maximized. An improved music environment will foster creative development of our students.
New Senior Resource Centre
The Senior Resource Centre is an open area that is not an ideal environment for the research that takes place. The new Centre will provide our senior girls with the atmosphere they need to do their best work.
Student Centre
Currently there are only a few areas were girls can gather to socialize or discuss topics of common interest. Our new Student Centre will offer them that special place where they can come together and work in teams, developing their leadership and team-building skills.

Thank You!
Many generous donors have brought us to this point in our journey. Recognition plaques bearing the names of our generous families are popping up around the School, showing our gratitude and leaving a lasting legacy to our donors for years to come.
These donors are recognized for the difference they have made for our Millies - present and future.
"My sincere hope is that each SMLS family will play a role in Building Her Future. Every gift, regardless of size, is a heartfelt and deeply appreciated expression of community. Working together, we can make a difference in the lives of Millies today and for many years in the future."
