Why SMLS?
At SMLS, it's not just equal opportunity, but every opportunity.
All the speakers, players, writers, singers, athletes, doers, and leaders are girls. Mentors and role models are not hard to find.
"'The teachers.' That is my automatic response when asked, 'Why St. Mildred's?' I would challenge any school to assemble a teaching staff with more passion, professionalism, and genuine care for their students than that which St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School has established; I don't think it could be done."

Student in McGills' Arts Program

Virtually all Millies go on to university after graduation and many receive entrance scholarships in recognition of their academic achievement.
SMLS provides an exceptional and balanced female-centric education.
- In 2009, 98% of our graduating class were Ontario Scholars. These graduates went on to attend first-class post-secondary institutions both in Canada and internationally. Many of these students received the most prestigious scholarships offered by universities.
- In the recent Education Quality and Accountability Office report (EQAO) SMLS was ranked #1 in Halton for Grades 3 and 6.
- SMLS was one of only 18 schools in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to score a perfect 10 in the 2008 Fraser Institute Report Card in Ontario Elementary Schools.
- Our alumnae continue to impress! Seventy-two percent of SMLS students who graduated from university in 2007 went on to continue their studies and pursue post-graduate degrees.
